Hiatus or Quit?

I'm confused.

I'm putting down my camera, I'm just not sure for how long...

After December 8th, I will be finishing out all of my commitments for the yr, then I'll be on a professional hiatus, not entirely sure when I will pick up my camera, if ever. I'm feeling like I am simply playing with a camera lately, not truly creating anything worth looking at. Certinly not creating anything I can make a serious living at.
This image is of the amazing Angela, AKA Gumby. She is a model of truly unknown potential. She can hold damn near any pose, she enjoys having fun in front of the camera and is always interested in what you are doing because she is an aspiring photographer.

About Time Lazy Ass

Yeah it has been awhile since I've posted hasn't it. I'm sure some of you reading figured I gave up on this, I'm sure some were glad I quit posting stuff up here, but alas I'm still around. I've just been crazy busy lately.

So I went to Exotica 2 in Detroit, where I got to play around with club shooting, which let me tell you is quite fun. I didn't care about trying to capture a perfectly lit picture so much as I tried to catch the mood and feeling of the club, of the event and the energy in the air. I loved using the clubs lights for mood, and I think I might have done a decnt job at it.

Besides meeting alot of cool people, I got to toy with my own desires in fetish. GASP! I know, who would have thought I might enjoy this stuff, I know, I know, I think I'm the only one who was honestly surprised, but I was. I am excited to possibly explore more of this fun as time goes on.

Another poem.

Alone I sit, all by myself.

Surrounded by people, but alone I sit.

My thoughts stay within my head.

No words cross my lips.

Calls for my attention go unanswered.

Alone I am, despite the hustle of people.

Loneliness,

Despair,

Fear.

People are all around me,

Bumping,

Pushing,

Talking.

But still I feel alone,

even in a crowded room.

A touch of poetry.

Here is one of my poems, it has won several awards, it was one of the ones used by the selection committee to name me "Young Poet of the year" in 1997. I think these pictures of Raelyn go nicely with the poem and also kind of answer where I get my image ideas sometimes.

I hope you all enjoy it, I know I do.

Sea of Madness

Hard, cold fingers caress my back,
pushing my mind to the edge of the sea...
the sea of madness...
Warm, sticky blood tickles my face,
pushing my thoughts to the edge of the sea...
the sea of madness...
Burning, singeing heat warms my insides,
pushing my sanity to the edge of the sea...
the sea of madness...
Bright, white light stings my eyes,
pushing my memories to the edge of the sea...
the sea of madness...
Deep, forceful pain injures my soul,
pushing my very existence to the edge of the sea...
the sea of madness...

Me Fashion?

So lately people have been asking me to do more fashion style work. I usually meet these requests with my head turned to the side and one eyebrow raised... I mean, I have an understanding ofphotography, some even tell me I'm decent and a few even tell me I'm good(but I think they are just trying to pump up my ego).

So, I find myself, with the push from models and friends to do some "fashion" style work on occasion. After talking with the beautiful model Maria again today, I kind of rekindled my interest in doing something fashion wise. It might be because she only has interests in that or it may be because she was such a blast to work with, I honestly have no clue.

I'm including a picture collage of Maria I did awhile back, to show how I like to shoot "fashion".

I love this picture

I really have nothing to say, but I just wanted to post this picture of Diana. She was a hoot during our shoot, she came in all bubbly and had me wondering why she chose me to work with. Then we explored her dark side and I found some inner dark within that bubbly little girl.
So, I haven't been doing much shooting, so I revisited this set and like this new edit even better.

We've only just begun

I just got back from the movie "1408". Here is my review of this awesome piece of cinematic mastery.

I will not give up too much of this movie's plot, only rave about why I love it.

I like the fact that this is inline with Stephen King's good movies and short stories, not like the recent crap he has been releasing. Every detail of this movie helped to build the feeling of dread. The set work was amazing, the make-up was wickedly good, I only found 1 error(which is amazing for the amount of change there was).

This movie is going to become a classic horror film, not like the gore filled crap that has been coming out. Yes I know, I do horror and gore make-up/photography, but sometimes movies make up for a lack of a good story by popping out an eye ball(*cough* hostel *cough*), but this movie was based upon a solid story.

I'm going to advise everyone to go see this movie!
The first picture I decided to post, was with the amazing Angel Dust, we built a piece directly onto her back. The second picture is with Tygrim(Ryan), where we decided to just play with some of my barbed wire and blood. I love the way this came out.

I'm not sure the public is ready for this.

So here goes. I am going to venture into the word of blogging. In my blog I guess you can expect to find a picture(once in awhile), you'll learn things about me that I'm almost positive you don't want to know, probably will be some of my poetry as I am getting back into writing(long hiatus to find my heart).
As you read through here, you need to know my rules... my blog, I make up the rules, if I feel like leaving in spelling errors I will, if I feel like writing a HUGE blog on my love of grated cheeese I so will. See I kind of like this.
The picture here is from my first shoot with Alexis. She is an art school modeland student, who wanted to venture out and do some darker stuff, you'll definately be seeing more of her here.
So now we are off to embark on this journey together please feel free to join my and watch as this scarey saga unfolds.
